Please note, this specimen is labeled as coming from the Minh Tien Mine, but this is incorrect, as that locality is a pegmatite that is well-known for producing crystals of Tourmaline, and the Sapphires are actually found at the nearby An Phu Mine, which is a marble deposit. This piece is a wonderful example of these now hard to find specimens featuring many fine quality, sharp, lustrous, hexagonal purplish-pink colored crystals of Sapphire measuring up to 1.0 cm long, sitting atop crystallized Mica matrix which ranges in color from a soft silvery-beige to GREEN (chromium-bearing?) in areas. A really attractive example of these now classic Sapphires. If you missed out on these in the early 2000s, be sure to pick this one up for a great price.
