A robust, showy, deep blue colored Sapphire crystal from the little known Baw Mar Mine. The crystal is complete all around with excellent hexagonal crystal form, and it's even doubly-terminated! The faces are lustrous and sharp, and the crystal is even a tiny bit translucent on certain corners when backlit. My favorite aspect of the piece is the fact that there is a secondary tapered crystal flaring out of the top of the piece, giving it the appearance of a dreidel. There are a lot of localities around the world for Ruby crystals, but good sized blue Sapphires are much less common to find on my market in my experience, especially from Myanmar.
