Item Description
A classic blue Sapphire crystal from Chilas with textbook hexagonal form, sharp faces, good luster and that rich saturated color. The crystal is doubly-terminated, but it's not a complete "floater" as I can see a point of attachment on one end. I'm told that these are found in marble and leached out. Fine quality all around, and even though it's not particularly gemmy, it's still a very attractive blue Sapphire crystal. A fine piece for any thumbnail collector or a fan of gem crystal species. Specimen weight is 17.47 carats.
