Item Description

Here we have a great Sapphire specimen from the famous Corundum producing region of Ganesh in Pakistan. The main crystal on this piece measures 1.1 cm across, and is incredibly sharp and well formed with brilliant luster. It's aesthetically sitting on yellow-white Calcite matrix, but the most important aspect is that it shows a notable color change ranging from a bluish-purple hue in sunlight to a darker purple-pink in incandescent lighting. A small nick on the front corner keeps it from being 100% perfect, but it certainly is better than a large percentage of pieces I've handled from this area. Valued at $800 retail. From the collection of Colorado collector, John Arnaud.
