Item Description
Sapphire crystal clusters are rare from the famous gem deposits of Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. The gemmy to translucent and lustrous, light grayish-blue, tapered crystals have classic, well-striated crystal faces. It looks doubly terminated, but is actually multiple crystals. I really like the diverging wing-like form of the smaller crystals. Nearly pristine, with only trivial bruising to two of the small "wing" crystals. Excellent and rare older material from these famous deposits. Not too many of this size and quality on the market these days. They are all heated, cut, and sold to the crazy Chinese market that is buying up as much as they can. 40.73 carats or just over 8 grams.
