Item Description
There are few localities in North America that produce gem quality Sapphires. Montana is the most well-known Sapphire producing state in the US. Various localities in Montana have produced gem quality Sapphires, which are the finest and most prolific from any locality in North America. Here we have a beautiful mauve colored Sapphire from one of the most productive localities for the material in the state. This fine little sparkler is a slightly included "Round Brilliant" cut gem. The stone has most likely been heated, but this is a perfectly safe and accepted practice in the gem world, as long as the buyer is aware that they're buying a heated stone. This would make a great addition to a Sapphire suite, or a suite of gems from the United States. A very attractive gem for this classic U.S. Sapphire locality. Sapphires are some of the most highly desirable gems in the world, and good stones from Montana are highly sought after in the gem world. I've seen these stones sell for $1,000 per carat and more at major gem shows.
