Item Description
Most people are familiar with Ruby and Sapphire, which are gem grade Corundum. The red stones are referred to as Ruby, but every other shade (blue, yellow, pink etc.) are Sapphires. Pink Sapphires are some of the most vivid and recognizable gems in the world. I've seen literally every shade of pink you can think of exhibited in Sapphires, and they are some of the most popular, durable, colorful and highly sought after gems on the planet. This stone has an strong pink color, and hails from what is one of the premier areas in the world for the material. The stone is honestly reminds me more of a cobalt-bearing Calcite than a Sapphire as it has such a vivid purplish-pink hue! The stone is translucent for all intents and purposes with a "Trillion" cut. You almost never see Sapphires with this particular shade, and the fact that it weighs over 2.5 carats is a big deal.
