Item Description

Sapphires are found in lots of localities around the world, but it's not easy to find good matrix specimens of any Corundum variety. This is a very nice matrix Sapphire which was came out in 2012 from Ganesh, Pakistan which is one of the oldest and more renowned Sapphire/Ruby localities in the world. This small cabinet specimen features a solitary 1.2 cm crystal of Sapphire with sharp, well formed hexagonal faces sitting on marble schist matrix. The crystal is translucent and shows a mix of pinkish and purple colors. The front of the crystal is in good shape, but it is contacted on the back. I haven't seen many specimens of this material on the market in recently, and we bought a small lot that we are happy to offer here in the auctions. I've seen a few Pakistani dealers with this material, and they are commanding very high prices on the market today, as are all fine matrix Sapphires specimens from all world localities.
