Item Description

There was a hand-written tag that accompanied this specimen that said "Chilas", but it could be from another locality as Chilas is the administrative centre of Diamar District, so some specimens ascribed to Chilas may actually be from elsewhere in the district. It features a sharp, well-formed, compressed, hexagonal, purplish-grey crystal of Sapphire on mica schist matrix. Hard to find from Pakistan, and certainly a worthwhile Sapphire display specimen on a worldwide scale. Valued at $950.
