Item Description
For the most part, good matrix specimens of Corundum are not easy to find from any world locality. Here we have an excellent matrix Sapphire specimen that came out of Pakistan around 2012. The locality at Ganesh is one of the oldest and more renown Sapphire/Ruby localities in the world, and has long produced some amazing specimens. The Sapphires on this specimen are good quality, sharp, lustrous, well formed, translucent crystals exhibiting a pinkish color in sunlight but more of a purplish color under halogen light aesthetically sitting atop Calcite and schist matrix. The largest crystal measures up to 1.3 cm. I haven't seen many specimens of this material on the market in recent years, so I was very happy to have this piece to offer. These specimens are not coming out nearly as frequently as they have in the past, and they are definitely commanding very high prices on the market today, as are all fine matrix Sapphires specimens from all world localities.
