Item Description

An impressive, large, mostly euhedral tabular hexagonal sapphire crystal from this well-known quarry in high-grade metamorphic granulite facies pelite rocks and famous for polychromatic corundum crystals (MINDAT). Rich sapphire-blue color characterizes this lustrous lamellar crystal. Three edges are very sharp, with the others being contacted. Some gray corundum is also visible. This is an excellent, very substantial, LARGE sapphire for the locale. 331 grams mass. valued $750-120
