For both size and quality, the Corundum specimens from Madagascar are certainly some of the best to hit the market in recent years. I exchanged this piece directly from Dr. Federico Pezzotta who collected it while doing research there. Some of these specimens show an obvious color change from indoor lighting to sunlight. This piece features an excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, hexagonal crystal showing a distinct pink and purple bicolor appearance. A nice representative specimen of these now hard to find Sapphires.
