Doubly terminated doublet sapphire crystals are rare from Ratnapura and this is a very nifty different looking and colored thumbnail pair. The adorable smaller crystal is flattened, gemmy, well-striated, has desirable cornflower-blue color and looks like a swallowtail! The larger gemmy crystal is mostly with some blush purple areas, has a nifty sidecar crystal and a bit of attached matrix. An excellent and unusual thumbnail pair. 25.14 carats (just over 5 grams total weight). 20.24 and 4.90 carats each
