Item Description

This is a lovely pastel colored Sapphire gem from one of the better known localities for the material in North America. This attractive "Round Brilliant" cut has only very very slight inclusions, and looks beautiful face up. It's very likely that the stone has been heated to improve the color and clarity, which is a fairly common practice with this material. The stone appears to do a slight color shift, as it shows a pale pink color under halogen lighting and a gentle golden hue in white light. A good representative gem from this classic U.S. Sapphire locality. Although they have been mined for over a century, Montana Sapphires have become increasingly popular in the last few years with collectors and jewelers, as we're seeing Montana Sapphires popping up in all kinds of jewelry around the country.
