Item Description
When it comes to the classification of varieties of Corundum, red gems are referred to as Ruby, but essentially every other shade (blue, yellow, pink etc.) are Sapphire. The most commonly associated color for Sapphire is blue in the terms of popularity and recognition. I've seen literally every shade of blue you can think of exhibited in Sapphires, and they are some of the most popular, durable, colorful and highly sought after gems on the planet. This stone has a beautiful steel blue color, and hails from what is one of the premier areas in the world for the material. It's slightly included and has a standard "Octagon" cut, which is honestly a rare cut for Sapphire, as the rough dictates that they are typically cut into rounds or ovals to improve the yield. I will say that the stone is un-heated / un-treated, and actually dates back a few decades.
