Item Description
This piece is labeled as coming form the Monte Amiata, and if the label is accurate, it is the only example of Sanidine that we've had to offer from this locality. With that said, there are other localities in Tuscany that produce twinned Sanidine crystals, so I'm not 100% convinced that the label is factual. With that said, this piece is a fine, showy aesthetic display specimen of featuring a beautiful, Carlsbad-twinned Sanidine crystal with sharp, lustrous well-formed faces and a light beige hue measuring 4.7 cm, flaring off matrix. The Sanidine is doubly-terminated and virtually undamaged.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell.
