"Sandwich-style" Wulfenite (classic)

Highly lustrous, blocky, "sandwich-style", wulfenite crystals richly and attractively cover the crest and the upper portion of both sides of this showy and excellent specimen from Los Lamentos. The translucent prisms, to 1.3 x 1.2 x 1.0 cm, have caramel-colored faces and honey-brown centers, hence, the "sandwich-style" name. Much of the matrix is covered with sparkly vanadinite variety endlichite microcrystals. A bit of edge wear is noted to a few wulfies and there is periphery wear to the lower matrix but you have to look close to see this amidst the 3-dimensional richness here. This is, overall, a classic, highly representative and rich example of this varietal from the famous Ahumada Mine at Los Lamentos. This piece probably dates to the 1960s or 70s. valued $900-1000
