Item Description

A rare pseudomorph from this old bauxite-gypsum mining area. Sand grains have replaced an elegant and sculptural intergrown cluster of sharp dolomite rhombs. Complete all-around, with only two small contacts on the ends. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10649 and acquired from Alain Carion at theTucson Show in February, 1985. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A fascinating 360-degree rarity from this locale.
