Item Description

Samsonite is a rare Ag-Mn-Sb sulfosalt and this fine crystal is from the namesake Type Locality at St. Andreasberg. The sharp, elongated, silver-metallic, 6 mm prism is in a 4.2 cm long stoppered glass tube. Although a micro, these are just not in the market at ANY SIZE. They were found once in the mid-1800s, is all. So, this is a fairly large crystal for a collector to obtain for this species and famed locality. Ex Joe Urban Collection. Choice old-time material.
