Item Description
A really cool specimen from the classic area around Cobalt, Ontario featuring sharp, semi-skeletal, metallic, silvery-grey "star"-shaped twinned Safflorite crystals. The piece was difficult to photograph in close ups, but it's well crystallized and looks better in person under magnification. Good quality for the material, and these are some of the more attractive Safflorites in the world. This rare cobalt iron nickel arsenide has been known since 1835 and is an intermediary species between Rammelsbergite and Loellingite.
