Item Description
The Fluorites (and associated species) from around Asturias, Spain are regarded among some of the most beautiful display pieces from any locality in Spain. This beautiful small cabinet sized specimen is from the famed Moscona Mine, which is best known for its fantatic golden-yellow Fluorite crystals. What sets this piece apart is that it has a fantastic coverage of gorgeous, cream colored, pearly "saddle"-shaped crystals of Dolomite sitting atop a layer of sharp, gemmy, golden cubic Fluorite crystals on matrix. If you look closely, there is a layer of small amount of sparkling off-white colored Barite in between the Dolomite and Fluorite, which helps raise the Dolomites up and gives them this beautiful three-dimensional "flowing" quality. Additionally, there are tiny golden metallic Marcasite crystals which are actually included INSIDE of some of the Fluorite crystals for a great touch. Very little damage, and very showy. A fine association specimen from this famous locality. Priced at $700 in the inventory.
