Rutile with Hematite partially included in Quartz (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

Some of the most iconic Rutile / Hematite specimens in the world are those from Novo Horizonte. This piece is a cool example of the 2008 find featuring golden Rutile crystals sprouting out of natural silvery Hematite centers which are partially included inside of gemmy Quartz crystals. Some of the Hematite / Rutile combos are fully exposed on the thin layer of granular matrix. There are very attractive areas where the Rutile "stars" are partially included in the Quartz, so you can see the transition from included to exposed, creating a perfect window to view the lovely iron and titanium oxides respectively.
