Sprays of brilliant golden rutile needles are dramatically enclosed in the terminated quartz crystal on this very fine and aesthetic 360-degree combination from Novo Horizonte. Interestingly, the rutiles needles are mostly epitaxially attached to the hematite plates on the exterior of the quartz crystal and crystal faces are preferentially class-clear to frosted, adding pizzazz. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a trivial quartz termination contact. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no number. It was lost during the move. Comes with a Luis Menezes label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
