Item Description

This is one of the most well known Alpine localities, right on the Italian/Swiss border. It has produced a plethora of some of the most distinctive and desirable Alpine species extant. Hematite and Rutile combos are some of the most highly sought after specimens from the Alps. Rarely do metallic minerals inspire such awe as the famous specimens from these famous mountains. This particular specimen hosts several small, sharp, lustrous, beautiful, layered, metallic silvery-grey "roses" of Hematite measuring up to 5 mm across with Rutile on matrix. Good shape overall, and one of the few Hematite "iron rose" specimens that I have offered from this classic locality.
