Item Description
It's uncommon to find Rutile specimens on the market from this lesser-known locality on the north side of the Ottawa River in Quebec. This small cabinet piece hosts many striated, dark brownish-red colored prismatic Rutile crystals measuring up to 6 mm, sitting on matrix. While most of the crystals are single prisms, I did find at least one twin, and if you look closely, you'll see a handful of slightly "bent" crystals, which is not unheard of from this locality, but still rare and not often seen in Rutile. A cool locality piece for any fan of worldwide Rutiles or Canadian minerals.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell and originally from the collection of Jacques Chabot.
