Item Description
Graves Mountain rutile specimens are a US classic. This textbook twinned miniature crystal has fine form, deep wine-red color with hints of translucence under bright light and classic silver, mirror-bright luster. The back side hosts a patch of iridescent botryoidal turgite. Turgite is defined as a mixture of goethite and hematite, and is not a valid mineral species. The contact on the back is out-of-sight in the display view. Excellent rutile from the Neal Pfaff Collection.
