Rutile (''Sagenite'' twins) on Quartz

Some of the best examples of Rutile are the wonderful pieces from Diamantina, Brazil. They are some of the most well-known crystallized examples, and are often found in association with Quartz. Here we have a lovely thumbnail sized specimen featuring groups of golden-red colored Rutiles crystals with almost metallic exterior and beautiful "Sagenite"-esque crosshatch reticulated twinning which are sitting on prismatic Quartz crystals matrix. Good luster and sharp faces as well on the Rutile, but they're best seen under magnification. One does not see a lot of these Rutiles on the market these days, and this is a good opportunity to pick up a nice example for your collection. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
