Rutile ("Sagenite") on Limonite pseudomorphs after Siderite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

A gorgeous and classic example of the elusive Rutiles from Boiling Springs featuring beautiful red reticulated Rutile ("Sagenite") crystals with individual prisms measuring up to 1.1 cm sitting atop rhombic crystals of golden-brown colored Limonite which has pseudomorphed preexisting Siderite. Classic material and very fun to view up close. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8724) with an old label from Lidstrom's Minerals. Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
