Item Description
A rarely seen specimen of beautifully reticulated "Sagnite" Rutile with a brilliant orange-red color sitting on notably GREEN colored hexagonal crystal group of Muscovite from North Carolina. I honestly don't know which aspect of the piece I like more as the contrast in terms of color and morphology between the two species is fascinating. The largest Rutile group meaures 1.1 cm across. The Muscovite reminds of Fuchsite or "Phengite" with its unusual green color. A lovely sepcimen of this very hard to find material, and just beautiful up close. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
