Item Description
A lustrous, sharp, rutile after brookite crystal from the famous Magnet Cove area. The floater crystal is grayish-black and the interesting, clefted faces are well-striated. Complete all-around and pristine, as the undamaged contact is on the bottom. Specimens of any species from this locality are seldom seen on the market and this is a particularly fine rutile. This mine was active from 1934 to 1944. Probably older material from the mining period. Ex Dick Heck Collection.
