Rutile ps. After Brookite (Stoudt Coll.)

Item Description

Intergrown, lustrous, sharp, rutile after brookite crystals from the famous Magnet Cove area. The crystals are metallic-gray and have textbook orthorhombic form, especially the striking large crystal. The large crystal is a partial sixling. Complete all-around and pristine, as the undamaged contact is on the bottom. This mine was active from 1934 to 1944. Probably older material from the mining period. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection.
