Rutile included in Quartz (large plate)

An visually impressive and dramatic, two-sided, LARGE CABINET, combination specimen from recent finds at Novo Horizonte (found early 2011). Brilliant, golden rutile needle clusters, some epitaxial on hematite, are both included-in and deposited on glassy, water-clear quartz crystals with stunning visual effects as a result of the combination and contrasts. A large vug on the backside is host to glassy, water-clear, translucent quartz crystals to 6.5 cm ; and with just two small rutile needle sprays. Periphery wear is noted at the edges of the plate, but has little overall impact on the striking display quality of the front of the piece. Specimens of this attractiveness, size and combination complexity are very uncommon from the finds here. 4.0 pounds or 1.8 kilos - it is large and VERY showy. Valued $1500-2000.
