Item Description

Fantastic faceted stone consisting of a large, light Smoky Quartz crystal included by Rutile. The quality of the Quartz is good - totally gemmy throughout, and the the Rutile crystals are out of this world. Long and slender, they traverse the Quartz and have numerous, sharply-defined branches extending off the main needles. And the Rutiles are RED! One of the better faceted Ruilated Quartz stones I have seen, and the red coloration for the Rutile, being so uncommon, raises this stone to yet another level. 37 grams - this is not small! From the collection of East Coast collector, George Elling, specializing in historic minerals of the East Coast and minerals from the development of old European mineralogy.
