Item Description
This is a superb rutilated "star" in a thumbnail-sized specimen. The star is complete, symmetric, and very balanced, and looks like a metallic flower. Jingnan (Tom) Zhang got it from the Chinese Quartz Carving Market where is a huge sprawling bazaar of dealers from all over the world selling stones, in Shandong on the east coast China, himself when he was a middle school student some time ago. Specimens like this turn up in China these days, as they buy so much of the raw material in Brazil, directly. 24.85 carats.
