Rutile (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

A classic specimen of Rutile from the famous locality at Diamantina. The piece has a rich silvery-red metallic exterior in reflected light, but in trasmitted light, a slight amount of rich red color can be seen along hte edge. Not only is this a beautiful example of crystal morphology, but it's a good quality Rutile from the standpoint of luster and sharpness. These are not common on the market, and pieces like this are hard to find in my experience in today's market.
