Item Description

Aside from the famous locality at Graves Mountain in Georgia, the Rutile specimens from Alexander County North Carolina are perhaps the most well known from any locality in the United States. This specimen is a great quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, metallic prism with a strong blood red internal color when backlit. The piece is in great shape overall, and would make a great addition to a thumbnail suite, a collection of North Carolina minerals, or a suite of Rutile specimens.
