Item Description
This rare and attractive matrix specimen features a couple of Rutile crystals measuring up to 8 mm perched atop contrasting Pyrophyllite matrix and comes from the classic California locality. The Rutiles are quite sharp, lustrous and well-formed with a deep metallic reddish-black hue. It would be considered, for the sharpness and the aesthetics, to be a very worthwhile specimen from this remote mine. From the collection of Dave Bergman, a Colorado miner (the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s) and the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
