Item Description

A hard to find piece from this lesser-known locality on the north side of the Ottawa River in Quebec. This large miniature / small cabinet piece hosts a 4.9 cm, notably striated, dark brownish-red colored prismatic Rutile crystal with an obvious "bent" habit, sitting on a matrix containing soft silvery-blue crystals of Fluorapatite. I've seen attractive twinned crystals of Rutile from this locality, along with single prisms, but this is the first specimen I've seen with a "bent" crystal. A cool locality piece for any fan of worldwide Rutiles or Canadian minerals.
