Item Description
The various Alpine-type clefts at Alchuri have produced some magnificent mineral specimens over the last 15 years or so. Most people are probably familiar with Epidote/Clinozoisite and Titanite specimens from this locality, but it has produced some interesting "Alpine"-type Rutile and Brookite specimens here and there. The piece hosts several gemmy Quartz crystals which are included with metallic, reddish to black Rutile and Brookite crystals along with sage-green colored "Chlorite" to create a specimen with plenty of "depth" and intrigue. To top it off, there is a small, but beautiful "Faden" crystal group of Quartz and the base of the piece, which is rare in my experience with the material! Very good association, and certainly reminiscent of specimens I've seen from the Italian and Austrian Alps.
