Item Description

This is a wonderful thumbnail specimen of the well-known, beautiful Rutiles from Brazil, though from a lesser known locality. The piece features very sharp, lustrous, prismatic crystals with classic "knee"-twin form on the smaller crystals near the base. The wonderful reddish metallic appearance and striking form makes for a great overall piece. When the piece is backlit, an itense glowing red color can be seen around the edges It's hard to find good crystallized reticulated Rutile from any locality, and pieces like this are certainly among the better examples of the material in the world. The given locality was taken from the label accompanying the piece from Frank and Wendy Melanson.
