Item Description

Rutilated smoky quartz from Goias State, Brazil is extremely rare. This striking, water-clear, smoky is filled with splendent metallic, golden rutile needles going in every direction, with crystals up to 6.0 cm long. The smoky is actually doubly terminated. The viewing face has been polished to highlight the incredible interior of this smoky. Contacting on the back and side, with little damage, per se, is mostly out of sight. This is really a visually dramatic rutilated smoky. Old-time material from Dick Hauck and Eugene Sensel Collections, as it comes with an OLD, faded Wards label. The note on the back of the Sensel label indicates, that Dick bought this piece from Wards old stock in June, 1982 for $125. It is certainly worth more today for the rarity and quality.
