An outstanding 221 gram rutilated quartz from Brazil and the Robert Whitmore Collection. The gem, water-clear, smoky quartz with fine color is beautifully filled with sprays of scintillating, delicate, golden, rutile needles, some epitaxially attached to hematite. The sawed and polished, sculptural smoky looks like a large, faceted, gemstone and looks great from either side. The out-of-sight base has not been sawed or polished. Gorgeous and absolutely classic for Brazil. For the size, this is just stunning and rare in quality. It has multiple fine display views.
