An exceptional Brazilian rutilated quartz specimen from the Richard Hauck Quartz collection. Brilliant, golden rutile needles to 3.2 cm in a striking jackstraw pattern richly fill a gem, water-clear, quartz crystal. The complete all-around quartz crystal is dramatic in itself, with the two terminations and downward-pointing sidecar crystal. Two of the backside faces are preferentially frosted. Interesting. This stunning specimen is essentially pristine, having only infinitesimal bruising to one tip. Rutilated quartz specimens of this quality are not that common and are highly desirable. Old material.
