Item Description
RARE reddish-orange ruby crystals are jauntily set on the blocky granular gray marble matrix on this older specimen from well-known Jegdalek. The sharp, terminated layered hexagonal prism is 1.6 cm tall. Most rubies from Jegdalek have classic pigeons blood-red color, making these crystals a real rarity, color-wise. Red fluorescence. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1998. Bob's label says Ponshir, Nuristan, an incorrect locality.
