Item Description
The Rubies from Jagdalek are among some of the most well known and superbly crystallized Ruby specimens around. This specimen features a remarkably sharp, very well formed, lustrous, pinkish-purple color prismatic crystal with good gemminess on a marble matrix. The Ruby measures 1.2 cm across. The crystal is not at all opaque as the majority of these specimens tend to be. A very fine Ruby specimen from a locality that is not producing nearly as many good pieces as it did 10-15 years ago. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12308). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
