It should be noted that this stone is most likely glass-filled, which is a technique used to improve the clarity of Rubies, and is an acceptable practice so long as the buyer is aware that they are buing a glass-filled stone. PLEASE NOTE: The embargo implemented by the United States government states that there will NOT be ANY of these Rubies imported to U.S. soil after September 30, 2008. We can't determine if the embargo is still in effect, as several sites are giving different information. If the embargo is still active, one can only purchase Rubies that were imported prior to the embargo, making them very difficult to obtain. It mus be noted also that this stone has most likely been heated to enhance the color, which is a perfectly acceptable practice in the gem world, and is fairly common when it comes to Sapphires and Rubies.
