Item Description
Cherry-red fluorescence on this large magenta, tabular, hexagonal, doubly terminated floater ruby crystal from this well-known locale in India. The moderately lustrous interesting stepped-growth faces and embedded matrix add pizzazz to this essentially opaque layered crystal. Slight edge translucence is noted, when the crystal is back lit. A fine larger than average ruby corundum example from the locale. Mass is 233 grams.
