Item Description
Over the last 20+ years, the impressive marble gem tracts around Luc Yen have produced some impressive crystals of Ruby/Sapphire along with Spinel. The best Ruby crystals from this locality are some of the most beautiful examples of this variety of Corundum found in any world locality recently. Their value is increased even more by the fact that the crystals are sometimes found on matrix, which is not terribly common for Ruby. This pieces hosts beautiful, lustrous, translucent hexagonal crystals of Ruby with a vivid purplish-red hue sitting on matrix. The largest crystal measures 6 mm. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
