Rubies from Mogok are the finest examples of the material in the world. The finest gemstones of Ruby are found in this area, along with the most revered crystals. This piece is a wonderful, sharp, lustrous, doubly-terminated, rich pinkish-red colored "floater" crystal. The piece shows good internal translucency when backlit. This is a wonderful old representation of these beloved classic Rubies. Specimen weight is 4.61 carats. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5173).
