Item Description
The top Rubies from Mogok are the finest examples of the material in the world. This doesn't only apply to crystals, as the finest gemstones of Ruby are found in this area. This piece is a wonderful toenail sized display specimen featuring a predominant, sharp, lustrous, doubly-terminated, intense pink colored hexagonal crystal, with a few additional Rubies attached on the side. Now the lower termination of the main crystal is not 100% complete, but I can see a tiny termination, so it is definitely doubly-terminated. The piece shows nice internal translucency when backlit. This is a wonderful old representation of these beloved classic Rubies. Keep in mind that in Mogok, all of the pink crystals are referred to as Rubies, not just to red ones. It's rare to find multi-crystal groups like this from Mogok in my experience. Priced at $1,800 in the inventory. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
